The Friendly Trust is looking for a compassionate, organised, and motivated Trust Officer to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support disabled people and other vulnerable adults to manage their finances, access their rights, and live more independently.
About us
The Friendly Trust is a Wales-based charity providing specialist information, advice, and financial administration services. We support people who may lack capacity, as well as families planning for the future, always working to uphold rights, promote independence, and empower individuals to live the life they choose.
About the role
As a Trust Officer, you’ll play a key frontline role supporting our Service Users and their families. You’ll manage your own caseload, providing advice, practical support, and financial administration tailored to each person’s needs.
You will:

- Build strong, professional relationships with Service Users and their families
- Manage day-to-day finances, including budgeting and income/expenditure monitoring
- Act as a DWP corporate appointee where required
- Develop and review personalised money management plans
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
This is a varied role combining casework, financial administration, and relationship-building, where no two days are the same.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in social care, advocacy, or a related field (minimum 3 years)
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable people
- Knowledgeable about welfare benefits and relevant legislation (including the Mental Capacity Act)
- Highly organised with strong communication skills
- Confident managing finances, records, and a varied caseload
- Empathetic, professional, and committed to person-centred support
A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.
What We Offer
- A supportive, values-driven team environment
- Opportunities for training and professional development
- Hybrid and flexible working (following probation)
- Generous leave entitlement and wellbeing support
